Retired General Orlando Maddela, Jr., SBMA-Law Enforcement Department head, identified the suspects as Philip Fred Buris, 66 and presently residing at Room 103, Jade Building, Crown Peak, Cubi Point and Ma. Elisa Claros Quintana of Subic, Zambales.
Investigation disclosed that at about 10:00 a.m., Sally (not her real name) went to her cousin’s house at Mangan-Vaca, Subic town to watch television.
While Sally was watching TV, Quintana arrived and talked to the cousin and asked the victim to go with her inside the Freeport for a walk.
Knowing that her cousin knows their whereabouts, Sally agreed to board the van driven by Burris and went in front of Saint Jude Hospital. Quintana alighted after Burris handed her a P1,000 bill leaving the victim inside the van.
The suspect reportedly brought the victim inside the Freeport and parked the van near a hotel and brought her into a room.
The victim became aware of suspect’s intention when the latter sat beside the bed and asked her if she is still a virgin. She asked to be taken home but the suspect shook his head.
The victim thought of an alibi and told the suspect that she’s hungry and asked him if she could buy some food. Suspect handed her a P200 to buy food.
After buying cookies from a canteen, Sally ran to the nearest SBMA checkpoint to report the said incident.
Police operatives headed by Major Leo Batinga immediately went to Burris residence and arrested him while Quintana was nabbed at Saint Jude Hospital in Olongapo City.
Suspects are now facing charges of violation of Anti-Trafficking of Person (Republic Act 9208) with no bail recommended.
Both are detained in a separate detention cells in Olongapo Police Stations.
