DINALUPIHAN, Bataan- The Department of Trade and Industry opened here on Friday the 114th Negosyo Center in the country aimed at intensifying the promotion of entrepreneurship in the only-landlocked town in the province.

The new center, the second in Bataan next to the one in Balanga City, sits at the ground floor right at the entrance of the Dinalupihan municipal hall.

Dinalupihan is considered as the gateway to the province being the first town after Pampanga and Olongapo City.

“Through the center, we want to promote the entrepreneurial spirit to residents of Dinalupihan, especially to farmers by giving them market linkages,” town Mayor Gila Garcia said.

Dinalupihan has sawali- making for its One Town One Product. The mayor wanted more products developed from bamboos.

DTI Region 3 Director Judith Angeles said the Negosyo Center will be responsible for promoting ease of doing business and facilitating access to services for micro, small and medium enterprises.

She said that the center will have the functions of business registration assistance, business advisory services, business information and advocacy and monitoring and evaluation.

DTI Provincial Director Nelin Cabahug and Mayor Garcia signed the memorandum of agreement on the operation of the center.

The creation of more than a thousand Negosyo Centers all over the country is mandated by Republic Act 10644 or Go Negosyo Act authored by Senator Bam Aquino and signed into law by Pres. Aquino in 2014.

Aside from intensifying the promotion of entrepreneurship, the Act aims to bring government services closer to small businesses and further boost assistance to MSMEs.
