CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — A total of 113 small-time company owners in Pampanga received livelihood subsidies from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) under its DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) to further enhance their revenue streams and overcome financial challenges.

The livelihood aid, totaling P2,239,750, was awarded in cooperation with the provincial government.

These include coffee vending supplies, ready-to-wear apparel, school supply kits, retail chicken products, hairdressing kits, sari-sari store items, fruit vending products, frozen goods, and raw ingredients for kakanin.

DOLE Pampanga Head May Lynn Gozun said the program aims to empower low-income individuals by providing them with sustainable livelihood support.

“Through these livelihood grants, we are helping our marginalized workers stabilize their businesses and strengthen their capacity to generate income for their families,” she stressed.

For her part, DOLE Regional Director Geraldine Panlilio underscored the importance of livelihood programs in uplifting vulnerable sectors.

“The DILP is one of our banner programs that directly addresses the needs of disadvantaged workers. By providing them with resources to enhance their livelihood, we are giving them a chance to achieve economic resilience,” she noted.

A total of 113 beneficiaries from Pampanga receive P2.2 million worth of livelihood assistance from the Department of Labor and Employment. This initiative aims to promote inclusive economic recovery by supporting self-employment and micro-enterprise development among underemployed workers, persons with disabilities, parents of child laborers, and other marginalized groups. Meanwhile, Governor Lilia Pineda expressed gratitude to DOLE for its continuing partnership with the provincial government in uplifting Kapampangans.

“Ang Kapitolyo, katuwang ang DOLE, ay patuloy na inuuna ang kinabukasan ng ating mga kababayan sa pamamagitan ng mga proyektong pangkabuhayan. Naniniwala ako na sa tulong ng mga ganitong programa, mas marami pa tayong matutulungan na mga pamilya na magkaroon ng mas matatag na kabuhayan,” the governor affirmed.

Throughout the year, DOLE has implemented livelihood programs benefiting vulnerable sectors, prioritizing the poor, persons with disabilities (PWDs), persons deprived of liberty (PDLs), child laborers and their parents, students, underemployed workers, and other marginalized individuals.

The livelihood assistance is a component of the agency’s ongoing initiatives to support the province’s underprivileged communities’ inclusive growth and economic resilience. (MJSC/AJPM, PIA Region 3-Pampanga)
