BALANGA CITY — Police arrested 11 persons suspected of being involved in the illegal drug trade and consumption during a social gathering in Barangay Saba in Hermosa, Bataan Wednesday.
Bataan police director Col. Romell Velasco said the suspects are 26 to 49 years old and all residents of Hermosa.
He said that confiscated were six medium-sized heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets, six small-sized heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets, and two open medium-sized heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets, all containing suspected shabu; two aluminum foil with shabu residue, drug paraphernalia and the P500-buy-bust money.
Velasco said that acting on a report of a confidential asset in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Region 3, drug enforcement unit operatives of the Hermosa police led in the buy-bust operation.
Joining the raid were members of the 1st Mobile Force Company, provincial police drug enforcement unit, and Bataan police intelligence Unit.
The suspects were placed under the custody of Hermosa police. Complaint for violation of Sections 5, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act are being prepared against them, Velasco said.
