IBA, Zambales (PIA) — A total of 107 individuals in Zambales received cash aid from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Each beneficiary got P15,000 under the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).
Provincial Coordinator Carla Mamaril said SLP aims to improve the standard of living of recipients by providing business start-up capital and employment.
DSWD also conducts training to hone the skills of program beneficiaries.
Rex Daos, a Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program beneficiary from Botolan town, thanked DSWD for the livelihood assistance that he received.
“I would like to thank the DSWD for the P15,000 livelihood assistance that I received. As a farmer, I will use this as a capital in planting rice,” he added.
SLP is a livelihood capability building program that seeks to improve socio-economic conditions of poor, vulnerable, and marginalized households and communities through accessing and acquiring necessary assets to engage in and maintain.(CLJD/RGP, PIA Region 3-Zambales)
