CITY OF SAN FERNANDO
Fear not folks, it’s not the policetagged CTs communist terrorists that have been unleashed in Pampanga, but contact tracers in the fight against the coronavirus disease.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government-Pampanga said on Wednesday that 1,062 CTs have started now working with the 19 municipalities and two component cities of the province.

“We have completed our target number of CTs since Oct. 30. We are one of the first provinces to complete the quota in Central Luzon,” DILG Pampanga program manager Mark Jayson Veran said.

The hiring of CTs nationwide is pursuant to Republic Act 11494 otherwise known as Bayanihan to Recover as One Act.

The tasks of the CTs include conducting interviews, profiling, and performing an initial public health risk assessment of Covid-19 cases and their identified close contacts; referral of the close contacts to isolation facilities; conduct enhanced contact tracing in collaboration with other agencies and the private sector; daily monitoring of close and general contacts for at least 14 days, and perform such other tasks concerning the Covid-19 response.

“Prior to deployment, they completed training under our Local Government Academy in partnership with Department of Health,” Veran said.

DILG also provided the CTs with complete personal protective equipment and other essential supplies to ensure their safety. With Jag Lyra D. Costamero/PIA-3
