BALANGA CITY – Ten of 12 mayors in Bataan were proclaimed at dawn of Tuesday by their respective Municipal Board of Canvassers.
Partial unofficial results gathered and released by the Philippine Information Agency’s provincial office as of 2:30 p.m. Tuesday showed that candidates aligned with the group of Garcia (4 Gs) was winning over the Payumo team (4 Ps).
Declared as winners in Monday’s elections were re-electionist Mayors DaniloMalana of Hermosa, Benjamin Serrano of Orani, Gene dela Fuente of Samal, Ana Santiago of Abucay, Ramil del Rosario of Bagac, Jesse Concepcion of Mariveles and Lilver Roque of Limay.
Elected new mayors were Alicia Pizarro who took over the post from husband Mayor Carlos Pizarro, Jr. of Pilar, Antonio Raymundo of Orion and Dr. George Estanislao who was unopposed and husband of incumbent Mayor Cynthia Estanislao of Morong.
Re-electionist Mayor Jose Enrique Garcia III of Balanga per partial and unofficial results showed he is leading by a wide margin over opponent businessman Jimmy Bustamante. Partial unofficial tally also indicated that Gila Garcia was winning against rival Joe Payumo III as mayor of Dinalupihan.
Results in Balanga City and Dinalupihan could not be completed due to transmission problem caused by alleged faulty CF cards.
