Declared winners in the 1st district were Benjamin Serrano with 104,699 votes; Aristotle Gaza – 101,183; Dexter Dominguez (Teri Onor) – 98,951; Rolando Tigas – 85,460 and Reynaldo Ibe – 75,079.
Officially proclaimed in the 2nd district were Jovy Banzon – 136,337 votes; Manuel Beltran – 134,642; Edgardo Calimbas – 130,634; Dante Manalaysay – 127,938 and Jose Villapando, Sr. – 125,877.
The winners in the second district all ran unopposed. All, except Serrano, are incumbent provincial board members. Serrano is outgoing mayor of Orani town having finished the three-year term.
The number of registered voters are 217,868 in the 1st district and 276,208 in the 2nd district or a total of 494,076 scattered in 773 clustered precincts in 167 polling centers.
JM Garcia of the provincial office of the Philippine Information Agency said 412,497 actually voted or a voter’s turnout of 83.48 percent.
