FORT RAMON MAGSAYSAY, Palayan City – Over 60 enlisted personnel of the Philippine Army’s 7th Infantry Division who were deployed in Marawi City during the so-called “Marawi Siege” last year were promoted in ceremonies at the division headquarters here Tuesday.

Lt. Gen. Rolando Joselito Bautista, PA commanding general, administered the donning of ranks to troopers from the 48th, 69th, and 91st Infantry Battalions composed of students of Scout Ranger Course who took part in the focused military operations (FMO) as part of the units under First Scout Ranger Regiment (FSRR) Special Operations Command (Socom) and members of the 72nd DRC which conducted the checkpoints and support operations during the fight against the enemies.

Major Gen. Felimon Santos, 7ID commander, said three troopers moved up from technical sergeants to master sergeants, three staff sergeants to technical sergeants, two sergeants to staff sergeants, 13 corporals to sergeants, and 39 private first class to corporal.

Santos lauded his men saying that everybody’s role was vital in the success of the government in one of its greatest trials.
