CABANATUAN CITY – An alleged bigtime peddler of shabu was killed while three others, including a woman, were arrested in an anti-drug sting in Barangay Samon here at about 10 a.m. Thursday.
Lt. Col. Arnel Dial, city police chief, identified the slain suspect as Fernando Mendoza, resident of the said place.
Arrested were Greg Ramos, 30, and Rodrigo Manalo, 34, both of Barangay Samon; and one alias “Rica“, 28, resident of Barangay Umangan, Aliaga, Nueva Ecija.
Dial said Mendoza fired a .9mm pistol at police operatives “but missed,“ prompting the latter to fire back.
Scene of the crime investigators recovered Mendoza’s gun, a P500 bill, eight sachets of shabu, and a digital weighing scale, among others.
Dial said the operation was conducted upon confirming intelligence reports on the suspects’ illegal activities.
