CASTILLEJOS, Zambales – A nursing student was declared dead on arrival at a hospital while four others were injured in collision between a Victory Liner bus and a Toyota Fortuner SUV along the National Highway in Barangay Del Pilar here Wednesday afternoon.
Police identified the fatality as Juliana Darem Ramos, 21, passenger of the Toyota Fortuner.
According to the initial investigation conducted by the Castillejos Municipal Police Station, the SUV was northbound when it counterflowed and collided head on with the bus on the other lane.
Authorities identified the passenger bus driver as Arnold Escoto Atencio, 36, of Capas, Tarlac and the Toyota Fortuner driver as Dante Paulo Ramos, 66, retired government employee and a resident of West Tapinac, Olongapo City.
Both drivers and three unidentified passengers of SUV were brought to the hospital for medical treatment and observation.
The authorities are yet to estimate the amount of damages incurred from the collision.
