BALANGA CITY — The provincial health office announced Tuesday that 1,273,143 doses of vaccines have so far been administered in Bataan since the vaccination program against the coronavirus disease started.
Included in this number are 116,298 booster shots given to the general adult population.
Fully vaccinated are 557,716 individuals or 80.85 percent of the target population while 599,129 have received the first dose with 84,817 waiting for the second jab.
The Bataan People’s Center, the main vaccination site in the province, was almost empty with only a few individuals waiting to be inoculated.
PHO officials said they have brought their vaccination team to far-flung sitios and are more focused right at the remote areas through their mobile vaccination on wheels.
Also, the rest of the vaccination sites in 11 towns and one city are fully functional.
PHO also announced that a few days from now, they will undertake the vaccination of those belonging to ages 5 – 11 years.
Meanwhile, the national inter-agency task force has placed Bataan under Alert Level 2 from Feb. 16 – 28, 2022.
Gov. Albert Garcia said the lower restriction again imposed in communities was due to the low number of new confirmed Covid–19 cases registered in the province lately.
“Mariin pa rin nating ipinaaalaala na patuloy pa ring umiiral ang pagpapatupad ng iba pang alituntuning pangkalusugan gaya ang pagsusuot ng face mask, pag-obserba ng social distancing at paghuhugas ng kamay at pananatili sa loob ng bahay kung hindi naman mahalaga ang dahilan ng paglabas,” the governor said.
