DINALUPIHAN, Bataan- The floods considered as the biggest that hit Dinalupihan, Bataan about two weeks ago have subsided and the sun has been shinning for the past few days but many on Tuesday were still trying hard to be back to their normal lives.

Houses in disarray with members of the family washing clothes, cleaning everything soaked in mud and dirty flood waters were common scenes in the only land-locked town of Bataan 14 days after floods rose to more than eight feet last August 7 – 8.

Kim Mallari Beltran, 9, of Barangay San Ramon showed their sala and bedrooms in total disorder while members of the family were washing clothes and cleaning outside. “Laruan ko po kulubot na,” the little girl said showing her toys that were deformed.

“Lubog na po ako sa tubig kaya takot na takot po ako,” Kim said of the swift floods while she was in their house last August 7.

She said that her father carried her on his shoulders and with her mother waded through the deep floods to reach an upland barangay.

They left their car under water.

In A. Mabini Extension, another barangay in Dinalupihan, residents were busy cleaning the canals and the road of mud. Some unwashed clothes and mattresses were seen still being dried on sidewalks.
