TARLAC CITY — President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has announced an allotment of P300 million for the repair of the Aquino and Agana bridges which spans collapsed amid the onslaught of the southwest monsoon rains last week.
The president personally inspected the progress of undergoing repair work on Sept. 2 with Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Vince Dizon, Tarlac Gov. Christian Yap, and Mayor Susan Yap.
Marcos, Jr. said the temporary Bailey bridge that would reconnect Agana Bridge should be passable to pedestrians in a week, and to light vehicles in two weeks.
“Malaking bagay ang ganitong pagtutok, lalo na sa sitwasyon natin ngayon,” Mayor Yap cited the significance of the president’s viti. “Patuloy ang ating koordinasyon sa national government para mapabilis ang mga kinakailangang aksyon at maibalik sa normal ang daloy ng buhay ating mga kababayan.”
