BALANGA CITY — The number of active cases of the coronavirus disease in Bataan continued to go down with 1,268 recorded Tuesday from 2,983 cases on Oct. 1, 2021, Gov. Albert Garcia reported Wednesday night as he sought for lesser quarantine restrictions in the province.

Balanga City has the most number of active cases at 337, followed by Dinalupihan – 225, Orani – 174, Mariveles – 105, Orion – 87, Samal – 81, Hermosa – 71, Limay – 69, Abucay – 46, Pilar – 34, Morong – 20, and Bagac – 19.

Those who were tested positive of Covid–19 reached 28,573 after the addition  Tuesday of 66 new confirmed cases while those who recovered rose to 26,194 after the listing of 111 new recoveries.

The latest report showed that deaths increased to 1,111 after registering seven new casualties.

With the decreasing number of active cases, Garcia said the provincial Inter-Agency Task Force on Covid–19 which he chairs has asked the regional IATF to loosen the quarantine restrictions in this province.

The national IATF has extended until Oct. 31, 2021 the modified enhanced community quarantine status for Bataan.

The provincial government is still waiting for the decision of the regional IATF and finally, the national task force.
