26,535 jabbed with first dose in Bataan

BALANGA CITY — The provincial health office on Wednesday reported that vaccinations for the first and second doses against the coronavirus disease continued for medical and non-medical frontliners and senior citizens in Bataan.

PHO chief Dr. Rosanna Buccahan said that as of Tuesday, 26,535 have received their first jab and 11,040 their second dose of either AstraZeneca or Sinovac in designated mass vaccination sites in the province.

Inoculations are being held in the Bataan People’s Center and Lou-is Resort in Balanga City and vaccination centers in Dinalupihan, Orion, and Limay.

Buccahan said they have so far received from the Department of Health 32,730 single dose per vial of Coronavac and 2,420 of 10-12 doses per vial of AstraZeneca.

She said that they were already preparing for the vaccination of those belonging to priority sector A3 or persons with morbidity.

Meanwhile, latest report showed that there were 102 new confirmed cases, 79 new recoveries and one new fatality from Covid-19.

The number of those who were tested positive rose to 8,030 with 1,434 active cases, those who recovered to 6,333 and those who died to 263. 

The new confirmed cases were from Balanga City – 32, Dinalupihan – 15, Abucay – 14, Samal – 12, Morong – 8, Mariveles – 7, Orion – 4, Pilar – 4, Limay – 3, Orani – 2 and Bagac – 1. 

Those who newly-recovered were 31 from Mariveles,  22 from Balanga City, 12 from Limay, six each from Abucay and Samal, and two from Pilar. 

An 88-year-old woman from Orion was the 263rd casualty.
