CELEBRATE WITH 50% OFF SYSTEM-WIDE SALE
CEB flies 45 millionth passenger

Jul 30, 2010

The Philippines’ largest airline, Cebu Pacific (CEB) recently flew its 45 millionth passenger from Incheon (Seoul, South Korea) to Cebu, and decided to mark this milestone with a 50% off seat sale to all its 33 domestic and 16 international destinations. The 50% off seat sale is from July 30 to August 1, 2010, for travel from October 1 to November 30, 2010.

Mr. Jae-Soo Hur, a Korean who has previously visited Cebu and Boracay via Cebu Pacific, was in the departure area when his name was called as CEB’s 45 millionth passenger.

He was awarded two Cebu Pacific Incheon-Cebu-Incheon air tickets by CEB representatives Chris Kim and KS Kang, joined by Incheon International Airport Corporation Aviation Marketing Director Tae-Soo Yuh.

“I like going to Cebu on Cebu Pacific because the ticket fare is very attractive and I think that ‘Go Lite’ is a good idea. In my opinion, no-frills airlines like CEB are better for young people like me because the savings on airline fares can be used for other activities. The flight schedule of CEB is also quite convenient for me since I’m an office worker and I can go to the Philippines after work,” said Hur.

Mr. Hur was also awarded a two-night stay in a Mactan seaview suite with breakfast, courtesy of the Imperial Palace Waterpark Resort and Spa in Cebu.

Candice Iyog, CEB VP for Marketing and Distribution, said, “CEB can only grow even further, now that we have passed the 45 millionth passenger mark. We began in 1996 with three domestic destinations, and now we are set to launch our 15th and 16th international destinations Brunei and Beijing.”

“We thank our passengers for their continued support, and hope they can take advantage of our 50% off system wide seat sale to visit our expanding network in the Philippines and the region,” she added.

The seat sale includes destinations such as Boracay (Caticlan), Puerto Princesa, Bacolod, Iloilo and Davao, as well as Osaka, Incheon, Singapore, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Macau, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Bangkok, Kota Kinabalu, Pusan and Jakarta.

For bookings and inquiries, passengers can call the reservation hotlines (02) 7020-888 or (032) 230-8888, visit nearest travel agents, or go to www.cebupacificair.com or http://funtours.cebupacificair.com. The latest seat sale updates can be found at cebupacificair on Twitter and Facebook Fan Page.

Based on Civil Aeronautics Board data, CEB overtook Philippine Airline’s passenger numbers in the first quarter of 2010, making it the Philippine’s largest airline. CEB operates the youngest aircraft fleet in the country, and garnered an 89.45% on-time performance in the first half of 2010, higher than the industry standard of 85%.
