MABALACAT, Pampanga – An alleged bisexual shot himself to death inside his car after driving around with the body of another man, allegedly his boyfriend whom he accidentally shot earlier in the same car in this town late last Friday.
SPO1 Randy Santos of the local police identified the victims as Gideon Panganiban, 37, a resident of Barangay Mawaque in this town, and his alleged boyfriend Arvin Ompong, 25, from Galas, Quezon City.
Santos said the bodies of the two were found with gunshot wounds in Panganiban’s Gallant car parked along Planters St. in St. Rafael subdivision in Barangay Mabiga here late afternoon last Friday. Both were married to different women.
Santos said that Ompong’s wife Mari Lean told police investigators that the two victims seemed to have had romantic relationships, as she claimed to have read text messages sent by Panganiban to her husband. She said the messages indicated their romantic relationships.
A police report on the incident said Panganiban apparently had an argument with Ompong in his car and accidentally fatally shot the latter.
“Panganiban later called one of his siblings and revealed he had shot Ompong and that he was not willing to surrender to the police,” Santos said.
He said that apparently confused after the shooting, Panganiban drove around and called up his relative before finally shooting himself.
“Investigators believe that the first shooting that killed Ompong happened elsewhere in Mabalacat, and it was only in San Rafael where Panganiban parked to commit suicide,” he said.
Santos said that both the victims are into a jewelry business and also jointly operate a computer internet café in this town.
