So, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello enjoined establishments in Boracay against terminating their employees while the island is on a sixmonth shutdown.

“Temporary suspension of business operations should not and must not result in the termination or separation of any employee,” he stressed in his advisory stamped ““for strict observance and compliance.”

You’ve shut down the businesses, Secretary Sir. So, it’s veritably No Work, No Pay. Else, pray tell, where do you expect the employers to get the money to pay salaries and wages of their workers?
