Patriotic response

Feb 27, 2018

BEYOND corporate profit, beckoned patriotic duty.

President Duterte called for the repatriation of overseas Filipino workers caught in the vise grip of manifold abuse – physical, psychological, sexual – in Kuwait.

Among the first responders – Cebu Pacific Airlines and Philippine Airlines.

Flag-carrier PAL has since flown back to Manila 1,240 distressed OFWs.

The country’s leading carrier CEB took in the largest group of OFWs – 396 – ever flown on a single flight from Kuwait by any airline.

Earlier, CEB announced that it would shoulder the cost of the entire charter flight, offering the airlift for free.

Aye, more than mere exercise of corporate social responsibility, CEB and PAL manifested here their sense of patriotism.
