Netizens hit Joey de Leon for offensive joke
By Arci Pineda

Feb 22, 2018

NETIZENS shout out what Joey de Leon did very recently in the longest-running noontime variety show Eat Bulaga.

Joey commented something which made some netizens react.

The comment of Mr. Joey de Leon is distasteful, insensitive and off ensive.

This happened at the “Juan for All” segment of Eat Bulaga.

The contestant named Mary Jane came from Pasay City and a self-confessed former prostitute. Mary Jane is now a born-again christian and lives in a ministry/shelter in Olongapo City.

The “Juan For All” segment was held in Olongapo City last Tuesday, were Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Paolo Ballesteros and Maine Mendoza hosts.

On the other hand, hosts Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon and Allan K were in Broadway studio.

According to some netizen instead of sympathizing with the past experiences of the contestant, Joey opted to ask if she had a customer from Eat Bulaga during her time as a prostitute.

Based on the video of Eat Bulaga, Mary Jane hails from Panbao, Davao del Norte.

Mary Jane, just like any other stories, went to Manila hoping to find greener pasture but eventually joined the fl esh trade business.

During the interview, Mary Jane stated...

“Ginagawa ko dati sa Pasay, binebenta ko sarili ko… Napunta po ako sa Pasay dahil may nag-ano po sa akin na kapitbahay po sa amin sa probinsiya, sabi maganda raw. Pero ang napasukan kong trabaho po, binebenta po yung sarili po.”

She had two children from two different customers she had encountered.

Mary Jane was carrying her second child when she met a woman who brought her to the ministry/shelter.

For four years she and her youngest child stayed in Olongapo while the older one was left in a shelter in Antipolo.

However, Mary jane is planning to leave the shelter for overstaying.

And very thankful to Eat Bulaga after having been chosen as the winner.

“Magagamit ko po ang mapapanalunan ko para makapagumpisa kaming mag-iina.”

But along the interview, Joey butt in....

“May naging guest ka bang taga-Eat Bulaga? Hindi, baka napasyal lang.”

Then pointing out at Jose at Wally, “‘Yang dalawang katabi mo.”

The segment was interrupted because of the delayed live telecast.

When it returns, Paolo asked Mary Jane, “Eto po, nakikilala niyo po sila?”

Replied Mary Jane “Si Jose po at saka si Wally po.”

Wally in defense said

“Sabi ko na nga ba! O, kita mo ikaw din pala!”

Paolo then asked another question “Sino ang mas madalas sa kanilang dalawa?”

Laughingly Mary Jane said, “Si Wally po!”

Maine laughed and point out at Wally “Haha! Ikaw raw mas madalas!”

Despite Mary Jane’s jolly looks, Joey earned bashers from what he said.

Some netizens even asked Joey to resign from Eat Bulaga.
