CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – With the help of all stakeholders especially investors and businessmen, Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda is optimistic that Pampanga could generate P200-billion investments for the full implementation of Pampanga Megalopolis Development Plan in a span of 50 years.

“It is capable of producing P200-billion because today is just the turnover but we are already in advance for making the billions possible for the Development Plan,” Governor Pineda said in an interview during the official turn over ceremony of the Pampanga Megalopolis Development Plan recently held at Laus Group Event Centre, here.

“The government is not the only one responsible for the realization of Megalopolis. The business sector plays a big part as they are encouraged to spend more investments.

She added that business persons would be a big help to make their investments in the province to grow and improve more.

“What is important in the Development Plan are the visions made for the Local Government Units (LGU) to do their part,” Governor Pineda said.

She said LGUs may include it to their Annual Investment Plan.

The lady governor also said that the Megalopolis Plan might ‘knock the doors’ of the national government to provide funds because the province has its vision and directions and this master development is the main requirement.

Meanwhile, Gov. Pineda mentioned about her suggestion in creating a Project Management and Investment Promotions Unit under the Office of the Governor for the Development Plan.

“We will immediately create the office this February together with the business sectors, Pampanga Chamber, and some consultants, that would be one office, and with the provincial engineers as well,” she stressed.

Gov. Pineda pointed out that the provincial government needs the private sectors to implement all of the plans. Megalopolis is a master development plan of the provincial government for the next 50 years.

“It is also a comprehensive development plan that seeks to address major issues and challenges to optimize the potentials of the province as an urban growth center,” she added.
