THE CITY Government of San Fernando headed by Mayor Edwin “Edsa” Santiago led the wreath laying ceremony in front of the monument of Nicolasa Dayrit Panlilio in observance for its 143rd birth anniversary on September 10 at the Henson-Hizon House.

This was followed by a short program wherein the relatives of the local heroine expressed their gratitude to the city government of San Fernando for continuously remembering and honoring their grandmother.

Vicot Panlilio said, grandson of Nicolasa Dayrit-Panlilio.

Dayrit-Panlilio is a Kapampangan heroine and known for her good deeds through helping the sick and wounded Filipino soldiers during the American colonization.

In his speech, Mayor Edwin “Edsa” Santiago stressed the importance of honoring and recognizing Nicolasa Dayrit-Panlilio’s courage and patriotism.

He also encouraged everyone especially the youth to be Nicolasa Dayrit-Panlilio in today’s generation.

Santiago added.

Meanwhile, the winners of the On-the-Spot Poster Making contest for the Women’s Week celebration were also announced.

Isagani Antolin from San Nicolas Integrated School hailed as champion followed by Jevugnue Inaga from San Isidro Integrated School (1st place) and Rommel John Malang from Pampanga High School (2nd place).
