Their word

May 18, 2017

“METUNG MAN kareng mayor keni Pampanga alang involved keng illegal drugs (Not one mayor here in Pampanga is involved in illegal drugs).”

So has Gov. Lilia G. Pineda declared.

“I do not know where that issue came from or how it was invented, but, defi nitely, I can say that there is no ‘tanim droga’ in Central Luzon.”

So Police Regional Office 3 director Chief Supt. Aaron Aquino asserted.

“Maniwala ku at susuportan kula ri chief of police Juritz Rara at Senior Inspector Melvin Florida Jr. keng karelang obra laban keng drugs at emi paniwalan na atin tanim droga keni siyudad (I believe in and support chief of police Juritz Rara and Senior Inspector Melvin Florida Jr. in their work against drugs and do not believe police in the city are planting drugs on suspects for evidence).”

So has Mabalacat City Mayor Marino Morales said in the wake of the cops’ relief from office for alleged tanim droga.

“We are number one in Pampanga when it comes to accomplishments on illegal drugs and for that I am thankful to the police.”

So Morales claimed. And for that, the sangguniang panlungsod passed a resolution of laudation to the city cop chief.

No mere words are the above quotes but ones veritably inscribed in stone, coming as they are from the governor, whose purity of heart is beyond reproach; the regional police commander, whose integrity is rocksolid; and the city mayor, whose longevity in office is unparalleled.

So, who are we to doubt?

All statements to the contrary will now need to be considered as mere allegations, spurious speculations, or alternative unrealities? Their sources to be vetted more for their character – “election loser,” “libeler,” “estafador,” “bogus crusader” – than for the veracity of their statements.

So they have spoken.

And may we in media be guided accordingly.
