Aiding education

Apr 06, 2017

“EDUCATION IS one of your treasures in life that will help you rise from poverty. Take advantage of it.”

So Governor Pineda enjoined the provincial government’s 8,202 scholars after handing out to them on Monday some P30.7 million in educational financial assistance.

Separately, the Capitol also provided P1.2 million grants to a total of 487 Aeta scholars from various tribes in Porac, Floridablanca and Mabalacat City.

A recurring refrain from the governor in her talk with the scholars: “I only ask one favor from you and your parents: Please stay away from illegal drugs. Many lives were ruined and destroyed because of it. Do not put to waste the efforts of the provincial government in aiding your education with just one single mistake.”

Well said, Madame. Hopefully, well taken too.
