Keeping well

NOT MERE yardstick against which others of its kind will be measured but the “gold standard” premium.

“The Escolastica Romero District Hospital will be our model for all government hospitals nationwide,” declared Health Secretary Paulyn Jean Ubial at Wednesday’s inauguration of the hospital’s spanking new building in Lubao town.

Raved Ubial: “The minute the patient comes in, hindi pa siya ginagamot maganda na ang kanyang pakiramdam…just being in a clean, orderly, very comfortable hospital.”

Constructed at a cost of P65 million the new ERDH building can accommodate up to a hundred patients. It comes with its own facilities and other medical equipment.

As much a concrete manifestation of Gov. Lilia G. Pineda’s top priority for the well-being of her constituency, the ERDH is proof of wise fiscal management by the local government.

As Ubial, again, enthused: “Ang masasabi ko lang po if the local government shows us accomplishment and great things that they have done with the assistance from the DOH, the more we will provide assistance to local governments who actually make wise use of the government resources and the allocation that we have provided.”

The Kapampangans have the enviable fortune of having a caring Nanay for their governor.
