DINALUPIHAN, Bataan- Relatives late afternoon Monday identified a body found along the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway here as a suspected victim of carnapping after the Grand Starex van he was driving could nowhere be found.
The wife, brother and mother identified the victim as Kenneth Nievarez, 31, of San Andres Bukid, Manila.
Police said the victim bore gunshot wound at the right eyebrow that exited at the back of the head and was hogtied with a nylon rope when found by a farmer at KM 16 + 100 at the SCTEx adjacent to Barangay Old San Jose in Dinalupihan.
A brother of the owner of the van said the vehicle left Makati early in the morning of Sunday bound for Bulacan to fetch their father.
Supt. Robin Sarmiento, Dinalupihan police chief, said they were able to trace the owner of the missing van after verifying from SCTEx management of the entry of the Grand Starex at the tollgate near Tipo, Hermosa, Bataan without the required toll card.
Police found near the body of the victim a toll card issued at the SCTEx entry point in Mabalacat, Pampanga at 6:40 in the morning of Sunday.
