WHAT’S WITH projects funded by the priority development assistance fund (PDAF) of 3rd District Rep. Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales?
Last month, some ruckus was raised at the inauguration of the Ricardo P. Rodriguez Memorial District Hospital in Bacolor town, which was constructed at the cost of P52 million from Gonzales’ PDAF.
So what’s the problem there?
The P52 million was not enough to finish construction of the 25-bed capacity hospital that started during the heydays of GMA. It needed additional P4 million from the provincial government to finally complete it.
So where’s the problem?
It just so happened that the provincial government in one year – at a cost of P30 million – completed the construction of the 50-bed capacity Dr. Andres Luciano District Hospital, formerly known as Balitucan District Hospital, in Magalang town which Gov. Lilia “Nanay Baby” Pineda inaugurated a week ahead of the Bacolor hospital.
A total of P56 million spent for the 25-bed capacity district hospital in Bacolor.
A total of P30 million spent for the 50-bed capacity district hospital in Magalang.
There is magic in those numbers.
No magic but something tragic obtained in another project funded by Gonzales’ PDAF.
This is that portion of the Arayat-Apalit setback levee that recently collapsed, putting both lives and property in Barangays Guimasan and Cupang in Arayat in clear, present, and extreme danger.
The P25-million dike cracked. Even before the onslaught of the rainy season. Which has led to speculations, aye, to malicious imputations of mischief, no end – all at Gonzales’ expense.
Yeah, what’s wrong with projects funded by Gonzales’ PDAF?
